Eye care professionals specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision—many of which do not always have obvious symptoms. Eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses, both as eyeglass lenses and contact lenses.
Our optometrists take the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.
Meet our doctor:
Dr. Randy Omlor grew up in central Ohio in the town of Mt. Vernon. He graduated high school in Pennsylvania, then decided to attend Penn State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
After graduating from Penn State, Dr. Omlor married Holly, and decided to take a break from studies and worked as an underwriter for a major insurance company in Ohio. His love of learning and interest in helping people led him to attend The Ohio State University College of Optometry. During Optometry school, Dr. Omlor took advantage of the opportunity to obtain a dual degree, and was accepted into the Master's Program. After completion of many additional hours of coursework, and successfully defending his Thesis, at the same time he pursued his Optometry degree, Dr. Omlor graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned his Doctor of Optometry and Master of Science degrees.
Dr. Omlor moved to Rutherfordton, NC after graduation, and started his practice in Shelby in 2006. He began to work at the Lincolnton practice in 2008. Dr. Omlor lives in Cliffside with his wife Holly and their family of pets. In his spare time Dr. Omlor loves to ride motorcycles, and read American Literature classics.
